Register for Ammonia Safety Awareness
In collaboration with our industry partners, Recreation Facilities Association of British Columbia and Curl BC, we are excited to share the new Ammonia Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) which provides training and downloadable tools for recreational facility directors, managers, and other refrigeration professionals. 2021 fees now in effect
As a not-for-profit organization, Technical Safety BC does not receive any government funding. Instead, we operate using fees collected from our services to ensure safety oversight throughout BC. This includes funding education opportunities and compliance and enforcement activities to uphold fairness for those participating in BC’s safety system.

Electrical Code changes: open consultation
Technical Safety BC is in the process of reviewing the 2021 Canadian Electrical Code for adoption in BC. As part of this review, we encourage anyone involved or interested in the electrical industry to participate in our open consultation, where you will have a platform to share your feedback on the proposed changes.

Fee changes 2021-2023
New grade crossing regulations
BC’s regulatory framework for railways has changed to adopt the same Grade Crossing Regulations and Standards that are in place federally. This means that road authorities and railways responsible for level grade crossings may need to perform upgrades to enhance public safety. Learn more.

Proposed fee changes: Share your feedback
Elevating clients: request an inspection online
Elevating clients can now use My Account to request an inspection by clicking on the permit for which you’d like to book an inspection. This feature allows clients to easily attach documents and send the request directly to the safety officer in their area.
